The METIS SURF 3D surface scanner is the first compact high-speed scanning system for creating texture maps with the best color accuracy and 3D data calculation accuracy on the market. The scanner is capable of capturing materials including texture, gloss, and other surface characteristics (such as those found on small wooden boards, tanned leather, fabrics and textiles, ceramics, natural stone wallpaper, etc.). The SURF 3D provides color data for a strong visual appearance, 3D embossing data (e.g., for use in 3D printing or embossing applications), and the scanner can also be used to capture material properties (e.g., for diffuse, gloss, bump, and normal maps, etc.) to perfectly reproduce the materials in CGI and other 3D rendering applications.

Die Vorlagen-Halterung ist eine verschiebbare, vorne und hinten offene Schublade. Sie kann weit an der Vorder- und Rückseite des Scanners herausgezogen werden, um das Einlegen des Originals zu erleichtern; kann aber auch für Stitching-Zwecke
herausgezogen bleiben.
