The new mid-size Metis scanner

The METIS DRS 1520 DCS decor scanner is the newest member of the METIS scanner family. Its scan format is slightly smaller than that of the DRS 2020 DCS, making it ideal for scanning small and medium-sized originals. The new DRS 1520 medium format decor scanner has been developed to meet the highest demands of industry and the decor sector. With a newly developed camera and further improved DC Syncrolight, you can now achieve even better results. The integrated METIS cutting-edge technologies offer natural color reproduction and appearance, 3D data calculation, gloss detection, and much more.

The new patented lighting system consists of four light sources with variable intensity that can be dimmed independently of each other and combined to create thousands of different lighting patterns (fully automatic and software-controlled). The light source has a very high CRI value, is IR and UV-free, and is equipped with an innovative light deflector kit.

The METIS Light Inspector software offers comprehensive functions required for post-processing a METIS scan, e.g., adjusting the light and visual appearance, generating 3D, depth, gloss, and normal maps, as well as an automatic stitching tool.

METIS Color Profiler software automatically controls the color accuracy of the scanner with tools for calibration, profile creation and conversion, and validation of color and ICC profiles. The software also supports ICC profiles from scanning to screen visualization to exported data.

All METIS applications run natively in 64-bit mode under Windows 10 Professional 64-bit.

The image output formats are Metis MDC, standard TIFF (color: 48 or 24 bits; grayscale: 16 or 8 bits), JPEG, and others.

The template table measures 164 x 105 cm and can hold originals weighing up to 100 kg. It also has integrated pressure sensors. For originals that curl significantly, there is the option of the METIS vacuum table.
