The 2A0 flatbed scanner VERSASCAN 36100 is a unique double A0 flatbed scanner with a scanning length of 2540 mm. It is particularly suitable for digitizing extremely long originals. Well-known users utilize this scanner to meet their specific requirements.
SMA is the only company in the world that offers a full line of large format flatbed scanners varying from A1+ to double A0+ as well as a line of manual and robotic book scanners. All flatbed scanners are suitable for scanning large and fragile originals that do not require a book cradle or cannot be handled by a feeder. Due to its newly designed roll-away mount it is easy to move the scanners around – regardless of their size. Simply unlock the flatbed scanner, fold it up and off you go. Alternatively a motorized height adjustment is available in order to accommodate different working positions.
The user is always at the forefront of our considerations. SMA scanners are designed to offer maximum convenience for the user. Operating an SMA flatbed scanner is as easy as operating a copier. You open the lid, position the original, close the lid, and start the scan. This can be done via touch screen, foot switch, or mouse click. Thanks to the unique design of our scanners, they can be used completely independently of ambient light. Furthermore, the operator is not exposed to any light source, which ensures fatigue-free and eye-friendly working. Our so-called daylight systems are equipped with state-of-the-art IR and UV-free LED lighting elements.
The 2A0 flatbed scanner VERSASCAN 36100 is equipped with V3D—a new scanning technology that allows many different originals to be digitized in different ways. It is possible to capture structured, metallic, and shiny originals such as wood, plastics, textiles, stone, leather, and coins faithfully and in the highest quality. The new V3D technology offers completely new possibilities, even outside the traditional environment of archives and libraries. V3D stands for VISUAL 3D. It is a newly developed technology that uses conventional 2D scanning to achieve results that look three-dimensional. The effect is based on different lighting scenarios that are combined with each other. The same area is captured with different lighting from different angles. This happens fully automatically during the scanning process. The different results are combined by the software in real time. The result is an authentic reproduction of structured surfaces. Furthermore, the depth of field is significantly increased. This new technology takes the already market-leading image quality of SMA scanners to a whole new level. Of course, the V3D function can be switched off, and normal 2D scans can still be generated.
