Book Scanner BookTEK® 5 V2

Through the ages: Five generations of Bookeye® book scanners have been serving libraries, archives, and offices for a quarter of a century—fast, sharp, and smart.

The new BookTEK® 5 V2 book scanner offers maximum efficiency in the scanning process. As the official distribution partner of Image Access for the central Germany region, we are pleased to offer you the new generation of BookTEK® 5 products. The modular product concept allows for easy upgrades from the Basic model to the Kiosk version and even the Professional system for any digitization project. All models feature a 21-inch Full HD multi-touch screen, three buttons for faster operation, and patented Scan2Net® technology. As before, the new book scanner is a genuine scanning solution and not just a digital camera mounted on an expensive frame.

New features, such as a live preview function and an integrated interface to payment systems such as PayPal, make the book scanner the ideal system for self-service. With its optional 600 dpi and a scanning time of less than 1 second for the entire A2+ scanning area, the BookTEK® 5 V2 book scanner is also ideal for professional use by service providers or in digitization projects.

A new mechanical book cradle design, four separately controlled LED lamps, and laser-controlled focusing enable high-quality, gentle digitization of books, magazines, archival materials, and much more.

Thanks to its dimensions and weight of just under 35 kg, the book scanner fits comfortably on any desk or work area. The integrated installation wizard prepares the BookTEK® 5 for use within minutes of unpacking; if desired, it can be integrated into a network including SMB, cloud, Scan2Pad, etc. A perfect companion for libraries, archives, offices, and much more.

Three different book scanner models are available: Basic, Kiosk, and Professional.

The entry-level book scanner model offers high scanning functionality at the lowest possible cost. The maximum resolution is 400 dpi.
This book scanner model includes all the features of the basic model plus the Scan2Pad application for scanning with any mobile device. The maximum resolution is 400 dpi. A foot switch and 12-month extended warranty are included.
The Professional model offers an expanded range of functions, including a scan client interface for integration into workflow systems and connection to external software packages. With 600 dpi, it meets the highest quality standards, such as FADGI***.

A 21-inch Full HD multi-touch screen is included in all models. By attaching an optional second one, the user can operate the surveillance scanner via one of the displays while viewing a live preview on the other. This live preview function uses a second matrix camera to present a live video view of the document position before scanning.


The monitor or monitors can be attached to three different locations on the surveillance scanner: on the neck, on the front of the scanner, and on the back of the BookTEK® 5 V2. The latter also offers the option of tilting the monitor. A second preview monitor can be connected as an option.

The extended book rocker construction, in which the rocker plates are magnetically coupled to each other, allows for movement in pairs both in flat mode at 180 degrees and in V mode at 120 degrees.

Dark Mode improves scan quality by reducing light reflection and ensures glare-free, eye-friendly digitization.

Multilingual operation, with over 20 languages for the unique Scan2Net® and ScanWizard user interfaces. Adaptation of interfaces to corporate identity norms and standards.

Laser-assisted book fold correction reduces shadows and distortions in the center, ensuring that even thick, bound documents look perfect when digitized.

BookTEK® 5 V2 Kiosk book scanner with Scan2Pad®

Scan2Pad® connects the BookTEK 5 V2® kiosk to mobile devices such as iPads and Android tablets. This allows the book scanner to be operated directly from iPads and Android tablets. The scanned images are output directly to the mobile devices without going through a cloud and can be seamlessly transferred to the iPad library via iBooks, for example. Scan2Pad uses all the functionalities of the book scanner. These include the creation of PDF files, automatic format recognition, color, grayscale, and black-and-white scanning, and high-quality image output. Each document is saved in the Scan2Pad app immediately after scanning. This means that all images are available at any time – even without a connection to the scanner.

Book scanner Bookeye® 5 V2 Kiosk handles billing!

The BookTEK® 5 V2 kiosk features an integrated billing module. Configurable invoice printing and journal output are included as standard, as are remote locking and unlocking of the system. For applications without an existing card or billing system, the BookTEK® 5 V2 Kiosk book scanner handles billing.

BookTEK® 5 V2 Professional book scanner for 600 dpi resolution + client interface

The BookTEK® 5 V2 Professional includes all the features of the Basic model, but the resolution has been increased to 600 dpi to meet the highest quality standards.

The client user interface allows for easy integration of complex workflows using one of the many available capturing solutions, such as Batch Scan Wizard or BCS2.
